"We were lucky enough to join the FTE team on a recent 4 day, 3 night hike into the Grand Canyon. The experienced and knowledgeable guides made sure that we got to see ALL of the beautiful sights at a pace matched to our abilities. We never felt rushed and always felt completely safe as we experienced everything the Grand Canyon had to offer. We will never forget the sunrises, sunsets, waterfalls, a night sky like you've never seen before, local wildlife and most of all the camaraderie we built with everyone there. FTE truly delivers the trip of a lifetime."

"I recently completed a 4-day, 3-night hike along the Appalachian Trail in Tennessee with Freedom Trek Expeditions. We covered over 30 miles and climbing more than 8,700 feet and I didn’t realize how much I needed this experience until I was in the middle of it. From the beginning, the communication and planning were spot-on. Every detail was handled with care, which helped ease the anxiety I often carry into the unknown. As someone living with PTSD, doubt, and anxiety, I came into this trip unsure of what I’d be capable of. But being in the mountains surrounded by raw beauty, tough climbs, and quiet moments helped shift my perspective. My struggles didn’t vanish, but they felt lighter. I felt stronger, more grounded, and more present than I’ve felt in a long time.
What really made this trip special was the people. The volunteers leading the hike weren’t just there to guide - they showed up with compassion, humor, and a genuine desire to connect. The camaraderie was real, and that sense of belonging made a lasting impact.
This wasn’t just a backpacking trip... it was a reminder of what I’m still capable of. Thank you, Freedom Trek Expeditions, for helping me find that again."

"I recently completed a 4 day, 3 night hike across the Grand Canyon with FTE. It was an absolutely amazing experience. At first, I definitely doubted my capabilities of doing this hike. The FTE crew did frequent check-ins leading up to the hike. That made me much more confident in my abilities! The team was amazing and super supportive of everyone in the group during the entire hike. I never thought I would be able to say that I have been to and camped at the bottom of the Grand Canyon. I’m forever grateful that FTE helped me accomplish that goal. This hike challenged me both mentally and physically. The feeling of accomplishment after those challenges is unmatched! It’s safe to say I have the “hiking bug.” This was just the start to many backpacking adventures. THANK YOU for including me in such an amazing adventure! FTE ROCKS!"

"I recently had the privilege of attending a hiking trip through the Grand Canyon with Freedom Trek Expeditions and it was an experience I’ll never forget. As a veteran, finding meaningful connection and purpose after service can be challenging—but this organization truly understands how to support and uplift those who’ve served.
From start to finish, the trip was exceptionally well-organized and led by a team that clearly cares about the well-being of every participant. Safety, camaraderie, and personal growth were at the forefront of every part of the experience. The hike itself was both physically challenging and deeply rewarding, offering breathtaking views and a powerful sense of accomplishment.
What made this trip special wasn’t just the scenery—it was the shared bond among fellow veterans/service members and the space the nonprofit created for reflection, conversation, and healing. Being surrounded by people who’ve walked similar paths made this more than just a hike—it became a chance to reset, reconnect, and recharge.
